You can read all the brochures and see all the pictures but you will only know how great it rides when you take it out for a trial. If your magazine is doing a RIB comparison article, feature story, or tender article and are interested in doing a trial, please contact Brigitta Shore at bshore@walkerbay.com for more information. AIRIS »
The award winning Airis looks and behaves like any other kayak, only when you are done with it, you can deflate it in 5 minutes, roll it up and pop it into the backpack and hike down the mountain or stow it in your boat. The patented AirWeb™ high-pressure construction is formed from a heavy-duty seven-layer polymer coated fabric that is joined inside by thousands of drop-stitch fibers, much like an elaborate web. AirWeb makes it possible to inflate Airis kayaks to more than 6.5 PSI, which is up to six times the maximum air pressure of other inflatable kayaks. Starting at 15lbs, they are lightweight and require no parts or inserts to inflate. They are quick and easy to use and the portability makes it a great toy for travel. There are several models to choose from, each with added features for their preferred purpose.
Using the same AirWeb technology as the Airis kayaks, this dock comes out of a bag, inflates in five minutes and is so hard and durable it can take a table and chairs and the family dog. You can leave it outside the cottage on the lake for the summer, or you can use it at anchor when blue water cruising and need that extra stern deck or maintenance platform. The Aqua-Loc™ ballast bags underneath the deck trap water and prevent the AirDock from slipping sideways on the water’s surface making it extremely stable for walking on or diving from. At a little over 60 sq. ft., it makes the perfect dock for swimming, diving, sunbathing, wake boarding or water skiing. Weighing only 22 kg, it comes in its own custom carry bag, making it easy to pack away and stow in your boat, camper or cabin when not in use.
Walker Bay hulls are injection molded from a custom-engineered High Impact Marine Composite (HIMC) resin that is incredibly durable and impact resistant. The hulls have gone through rigorous testing which includes pounding repeatedly with a sledgehammer for ten minutes as well as being driven over by a large Sports Utility Vehicle. The resilient one-piece injection molded hull will get a few scuffs but no fractures or breakage, and returns to form due to the memory characteristic that is inherent in HIMC. Unlike a hard fiberglass hull that is vulnerable to corrosion or delaminating when scratched, the Walker Bay hull is a single color solid material that requires no fixing for scuffs and scrapes. Walker Bay hulls come with a TEN (10) YEAR WARRANTY but are likely going to last a lifetime.
In 1998 the Walker Bay 8 was launched and took the market by storm as the little boat that rows, sails and motors. It was designed to get more people into boating because it is inexpensive, versatile, durable and very light weight making it easy to handle. Today there are five boats that fit into this category including the Rigid Inflatable Dinghies (RID). The sleek hull and integrated oar system with detachable performance blades make it easy to row and quite swift. There are several different options for sail kits based on one's experience and desired performance level. The lapstrake hull and seating design makes it efficient for motoring. These boats are the ideal boat tender, great beginner or junior sailing vessel and an all-round hassle-free recreational boat. Few multi-purpose products in the world do all of their functions as well as Walker Bay boats.
Walker Bay® boats are manufactured using state-of-the-art injection molding. Precisely pre-measured High Impact Marine Composite (HIMC) resin is injected into the 82-ton steel mold with over 8,000 tons of clamp force. In less than five minutes, a flawless single-walled hull is born. This superior manufacturing process enables the boat to be lightweight, UV-protected, finely detailed, scuff resistant, seamless with no joints to leak and of the highest level of precision, producing a perfect boat time and time again. The process is entirely environmentally friendly and the materials are recyclable.
With a vision to design a line of boats with global appeal, Walker Bay® Boats has selected an international team with some of the best designers and engineers from around the world. From French boat designers, to Italian mold engineers, to Danish plastic specialists, the boats are produced on the largest injection molding machine in the World and then shipped to every continent and sold in over 50 countries. All boats are made to nest in increments of two and a half inches (with the seats packaged separately) so shipping efficiency is increased by 5 times over comparable boats of this size. This enables the boats to be affordable for families around the world. The manufacturing plant has the capacity to produce over 350 boats per day, making worldwide supply a reality.
When Boating Magazine took the Generation out for a spin, they compared the transom to the trunk of the Aston Martin DB 5 from Goldfinger, the racy console to the inboard launch used in Man With The Golden Gun, and said that the deep V-hull might have landed soft had it jumped the highway in Live and Let Die. The Generation is a boat full of bold statements with a distinctive design and sporting performance, without compromising on space and luxury. By paying close attention to aerodynamics above the water and hydrodynamics below the water, the Generation planes at lower speeds and has excellent hull traction for aggressive maneuvering. High end touches like steps with teak laminate inlay, push button hydraulic stern hatch, telescopic ski post and quick flip swim ladder are a few of the many features that make the Generation a stylish RIB suitable for 007.

Walker Bay wanted to create a boat that would stand out from the rest and offer the consumer more reasons to choose a Genesis over other inflatable boats in this category. What sets these boats apart from the competition is firstly, the design of the lightweight durable composite hull and trim tabs making this boat an excellent performer, optimizing planning performance and maneuverability. Secondly, value –the boats are competitively priced with high-end features that are aesthetically pleasing. Thirdly, many innovative features make for a more comfortable ride and high-end feel. For example, the tapering tube design maximizes internal space and extends further aft to reduce spray and increase stability. There are also many innovative storage compartments to stow fuel tanks, gear, life jackets and so on. There are two wheels in the hull so one person can easily role it down the boat ramp, telescopic oars that stow out of the way and a non-skid floor with drainage slats that can also be used for strapping down gear. The list goes on to demonstrate that this is no ordinary inflatable.
