Detail & design make this spacious, comfortable boat an excellent performer

Yakima, WA, October 7, 2008 – Walker Bay® Boats Inc. launches the Generation 390 and 430, a mid-sized RIB that has a distinctive design, excellent performance and well thought out luxurious features that make it a smart, comfortable ride. “The sleek distinctive wide body design of the Generation sets it apart from the pack”, said Paolo Rista, Designer of Walker Bay’s RIB line. “It’s like driving a spacious sports car; you get all the high end performance without compromising on the extra luxuries that make it a pleasure to drive.” The boats will be launched at the Annapolis Boat Show, October 9.

Superior Performance and Handling

With detailed attention to hull design and aerodynamics, the Generation outperforms its class with incredible handling at high speeds. The fiberglass hull has a deep V in the bow, which cuts through the water providing a smooth solid ride. As it propels through the water, the concave chines deflect the water down reducing spray and increasing hull traction for aggressive maneuvering while the stern of the hull flattens out to facilitate planing at low speeds. Above the water, the Generation is designed to make equal use of aerodynamics to maximize speed and control. The sloping design of the bow step pushes the boat down at the front while the downward curve of the stern lifts the tail to increase stability and handling.

Spacious and Comfortable

The wide body and open cockpit design provides a spacious interior allowing for more legroom and comfortable seating. The driver’s seat is situated in the stern and features a high back cushioned bench with rounded sides to give extra support on sharp turns. The sophisticated design of the driver’s console is ergonomic and stylish with a large dashboard and substantial smoked windshield, and is accented with a stainless steel support rail and cup holder. The L-shaped front seat is large enough to take three people and doubles as a sun bed. All seating has removable lavish dual layer high-density foam cushioning with reinforced contrast stitching. The stern deck has a push button hydraulic hatch for storing gear and all seats have integrated storage compartments to keep the interior space clean and open to move about. There is also a built-in fuel tank and quick access battery compartment.

Loaded with High End Features

The Generation comes equipped with bow and stern steps with teak laminate inlay, a removable all-around white pole light, LED navigation lights, two large rub rails, three folding davit lifting eyes, an integrated fishing rod holder, four cup holders, four stainless steel handrails, and four fully integrated pop-up horn cleats for easy tie-up when needed. Optional accessories include a push button aluminum telescopic ski post and quick flip swim ladder for water sports.

Walker Bay Launches Generation, A New Luxury RIB

“We have our Walker Bay 8 a couple of weeks now, and it's great fun ! What I miss in your website and brochures is how "rowable" it is, much much better than any inflatable. Last night I took it along for a 3 mile trip, rowing at leisure and very relaxing.”
